Hey! I'm Dan, as seen on the logo! The main man here at DSWoodworks, I solely run, design, build, market just about everything! Found out all about me:
My Career
I am a qualified joiner-cabinet maker. I have spent 10 years serving and learning in this diverse industry. I have made kitchens and furnishings for multi-million luxury super yachts, interiors for high end VW camper conversions, and was in a solid wood furniture company making well over 1000+ household furniture items from beds to drawers units, bookcases and much more. Safe to say I know my way around a piece of wood! I am also unexpectedly an artist with my 2020 business 'The Chops' and have sold 500+ unique handmade pieces of wall art for homes! I am even in a local artist shop 'The Artful Duck'
Why I love my craft
Since I was able to use my hands, I've loved to build, assemble, draw and design. I love creating things and finding unique grains in timbers. With a family history of woodworkers, I guess i'm wired this way! You can rest assured knowing I will create the most eye popping furniture and decor and will certainly do my trademark pose of standing back and staring at my wonderful creations to seal its quality and make sure it truly is a thing of beauty! #perfectionist. Lastly the most personal reason, I make everything with love. Sounds funny right? I LOVE what I do and believe me, it is the very soul of creating a special product.
The dream
With DSawfordWoodworks created, we're halfway there! to build my own company doing what I love best is the dream. One day I hope to employ only the best, charismatic people to join me in creating beautiful, top quality wooden items for you!

Emma (My Fiancé!)
Emma is a fantastic social media manager and helps out doing my posts, photos & content! She has an amazing skill in setting up a scene for a photoshoot- that we actually do ourselves in our home!
Emma is also one of the main reasons this is all real, by persuading me to take the big leaps in life and being by my side to support me in this journey.

2020 The creation of 'The Chops' artwork
December 2020, I started creating my wooden pet portraits, and was named 'YourDogsChops!'. Here I am pictured with some of the first Chops, my very own dogs, Hero and Ghost!

2021 Then came the wild animals!
Over the next 3 months, after creating 100+ Dogs, cats, Horses and all sorts! I began getting interest in wildlife animals, and so that gave me the inspiration to turn it into a potential store!

2022 'ChopsWorkshop' was born!
By now I have moved out and into my first flat! I had my own set up to paint (my mum was thankful it wasn't all over our dining table any more!). From here, with 30+ wild animals designed, I decided I needed a broader name so I could have an online store, 'ChopsWorkshop' was born.

2023 Chops in a shop!
Onto 2023-2024, now with 400+ sold, 55+ wild animals and 3 house moves... I sell my Chops in a fantastic local art shop in Raunds 'The Artful Duck'! I began gearing up for my dream of making my own furniture business after working 10yrs in the Furniture making industry.

2024 DSAWFORDWOODWORKS
with one last move, I finally have my own workshop space and spent 2024 building up the brand by creating a range of furniture and this website to finally have a store for all my products!
This is the start of me being able to do what I love most and cannot thank everyone enough for supporting me along the years. Big love from me and here's to the next years!
